The new issue of the Hawk Headliner was released by the ROISD on August 26, 2008. Hawk Eye News and the New Media Technology program made the front cover. This issue is jammed packed with great information, news and a school dates and calendar. The Haw k eye News with Allen J. Oliver is now an available high school class through INTRO TO MEDIA TECHNOLOGY courses. This new multimedia class is new to the curriculum but not new to the district. Instead of being produced entirely off campus, students will report, film, edit and produce the popular Red Oak school news program while gaining high school credit.

The Hawks - New Season Series Coming Soon!

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

coming-soon.jpg

Produced by Allen J. Oliver Productions and ROHS Media Technology Students. This new series will take an inside look at the teams organization including practice coverage and action packed highlights from of each game. This series was inspired by the success of last season. After a 3-7 season in 2006 the Hawks still seem to be a few years away from a contender, in a very tough district 15-4 A the Hawks are predicted to finish in 7th.

First district win since 2003 with a hard fought victory over Lancaster 14-7 in front of a packed home crowd. Down 22 - 20, Kevin Pruett hits Nic Boyd on a 70 yard screen pass and touchdown run with perfect blocking from the offensive line and receivers; to crush the hearts of Midlothian fans with only 28 seconds left and with the Ethan Wood extra points the Hawks took their second district win 27-22.
